Description
Cape Fear River - Photography by Jo Ann Tomaselli
A look toward the mouth of the Cape Fear River from the 5th floor of a downtown building shows old warehouse buildings in the foreground, the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge on the horizon along with the state port of Wilmington, NC.
Wilmington, North Carolina, was a major port city for the Confederate States during the American Civil War, was one of the most important points of entry for supplies for the entire Confederate States. and was the last port to fall to the Union Army. The current port is located east of the Cape Fear Bridge and can be seen in this image on the horizon on the left.

The silvery sheen and abandoned building in the foreground set aood in this image for me Jo Ann. The title just reinforces the image. Excellent work.
