I find graveyards a wonderful, peaceful place to while away the hours investigating old headstones and the sentiments inscribed there, checking the dates of the deceased and, best of all, documenting photographically the statues in the Christian sections of the grounds.
This statue is in a lovely cemetery in Micanopy, Florida. It's tucked away off the main road and is populated by majestic old oak trees drenched in spanish moss, azalea bushes and dogwood trees. While wandering, I spotted this statue and viewed it from several different positions. When I saw the arm positioned perfectly between the branches of the tree, I enjoyed the statement this innate object seemed to be making.
