Description
Indian Man With Long White Beard and Colorful Turban by Fine Art Photographer Jo Ann Tomasellli
I've always wondered how long it would take to grow a foot long beard and a nice long handlebar mustache. The beard length of the Rajastani Indian man makes me wonder how much hair is wrapped up in his colorful turban. What you don't see in this image is the large hookah water pipe that accompanied him; maybe that's whey he appears so happy!
According to Wikipedia:
The first facial hair to appear tends to grow at the corners of the upper lip (age 1115)
It then spreads to form a moustache over the entire upper lip (age 1617)
This is followed by the appearance of hair on the upper part of the cheeks, and the area under the lower lip (age 1618)
It eventually spreads to the sides and lower border of the chin, and the rest of the lower face to form a full beard.
