Description
Doorway At The Bottom Of The Stairs by Jo Ann Tomaselli
A single, white, wooden door stands cracked open at the bottom of a stairwell, spilling blue light onto a darkened landing. The mystery and intrigue of this image resides in the unknown Who left the door open only a crack? What lies on the other side? Why is the door not locked? Where will one wind up if one proceeds through the opening? I believe architectural photography is at it's best when it conveys conceptual ideas of escapism, freedom, opportunity or entrance into unknown worlds. Combine architectural photography with fine art and you enter a world I love to reside in I'm glad to take you along on my visual journey!

Saw this in the Best Blank Greeting cards group and love the entire series. The white on white is lovely and, as you say, the mood of uncertainty in this one especially is terrific.

The PoV has a strange impact on me - as though the floor under my feet is shifting. Unsettling, but really enjoyable. v

I like, like, LIKE this white series of yours! The POV is great on this and I love how you used a wide angle lens to make the lines stretch and the image disappear into white in the top. v10

I love the depth in the angle and just a tiny bit of light beckoning you to open the door to see what is there. Very well done!
